PLEASANT GROVE, UT – Utah Youth Education in Shooting Sports (UTYESS) has been awarded a grant from the Mule Deer Foundation to be used to help construct Utah’s first Olympic-style international bunker trap.

UTYESS has partnered with Wasatch Wing & Clay of Cedar Fort, Utah for the construction of this project. Wasatch Wing & Clay is centrally located to most of the youth participating in the UTYESS program. The new facility will help promote youth shooting sports statewide and provide a new shooting sport that has never been offered in Utah before. The groundbreaking on this project occured in August.

“The Mule Deer Foundation is excited for the opportunity to assist UTYESS in their mission, ” said Jeremy Anderson, MDF Regional Director of Utah. “It’s critical to provide opportunities that strengthen shooting sports disciplines, and doing so helps the organization foster the next generation of shooters.”

“We are extremely grateful to Mule Deer Foundation,” said Brian Beard, President, Utah Youth Education in Shooting Sports. “Bunker Trap is not offered anywhere else in Utah currently. We are excited to soon be breaking ground on this project. We are also excited to have Mule Deer Foundation participate in future UTYESS events.”
