PLEASANT GROVE, UT – Nine Utah Youth Education in Shooting Sports (UTYESS) teams have been awarded a combined $60,229 in cash grants by the MidwayUSA Foundation, from the Team Endowment Program. These grants will provide funding to promote Utah’s youth shooting sports activities. “The MidwayUSA Foundation, has made all the difference! The Potterfields have been a true advocate for the shooting sports” explains JR Nostrom, Head Coach, Cache Valley Clay Crushers. “Their vision and contribution to the endowment accounts will help youth groups for generations to come. The Cache Valley Crushers have participated in this program for over 10 years and realize the value of the Potterfields vision. Each year we are able to provide more benefits to our shooters because of the endowment. As with all ventures in life, you get out of it what you put into it.”

The MidwayUSA Foundation Team Endowments provide financial support to high school and college-level youth shooting sports teams across America. As 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, all donations made to the MidwayUSA Foundation are tax-deductible and thanks to the generosity of Larry and Brenda Potterfield, all donations in 2021 are matched.

“Our teams have undertaken tremendous fundraising efforts for their MidwayUSA Foundation Team Endowment Accounts over the past several years, with the idea of maximizing these cash grants,” said Brian Beard, President of UTYESS. “Teams that have an account balance in their MidwayUSA Foundation Team Endowment account are eligible to request a grant of 5% of their balance once per year. The more fundraising the team does for their team endowment, the higher their grant amounts become. Donations made to the endowment accounts remain there in perpetuity and are eligible for quarterly earnings. Fundraising today means funding every year for as long as the team exists.”

About MidwayUSA Foundation Team Endowment Program
The Team Endowment Program gives a community the ability to financially support a competitive youth shooting sports program. Like other sports, shooting teams provide wonderful opportunities for students to make friends, develop confidence, and learn discipline and leadership skills. However, most schools and clubs provide little or no funding for youth shooting sports teams, so it is up to us to help. As the primary program of the MidwayUSA Foundation, Team Endowments provide financial support to high school-aged and college-level youth shooting sports teams across America.
